Student Exhibitions in Fine Art, Architecture and Design
Exhibition The degree show by students from Umeå Academy of Fine Arts has been exhibited over the years at Bildmuseet. This year the art students will be accompanied by exhibitions by fellow students from both Umeå School of Architecture and Umeå Institute of Design, Umeå University.

Picture Book of the Year 2011
Exhibition Snöbollen is a newly established prize for the best Swedish picture book. It was awarded for the first time during Umeå international literature festival, Littfest 2012. An exhibition of the winning entry, Apan och jag (Monkey and Me) by Eva Lindström, is presented at Bildmuseet.

Mobile time rooms by Maria Sundström
Exhibition Artistic and scientific method meet in “Mobile Time Rooms”. The artist Maria Sundström together with the linguist Ann-Cathrine Edlund have investigated six diaries from northern Sweden through interviews, archive studies and visits to the diary writers’ home environments.

Kirunatopia I / In the Shadow of the Future
Exhibition Kirunatopia is a group exhibition of artworks emerging from the diverse and transforming location of Kiruna, the northernmost city in Sweden, where a group of international artists have been invited to work and research on site.

Disobedience Archive / Marco Scotini
Exhibition Disobedience Archive, curated by Marco Scotini, is a video archive and a a guide to the geography of civil disobedience, from the social struggles in Italy in 1977 to the recent anti-globalisation protests before and after Seattle. It is also a platform of discussion dealing with the relationship between artistic practices and political action.

Mario Merz / What Is to Be Done?
Exhibition Mario Merz was associated with Arte Povera, a group of Italian artists in the 1960s who turned away from artistic convention. Neon, numbers, newsprint, brushwood and bags of clay are some of the materials Merz employed. Mario Merz: What Is to Be Done? will be the first presentation of the artist’s work in Sweden in thirty years.

Björn Berg / Not a Day without a Line Drawn
Exhibition Björn Berg (1923-2008) is the artist behind some of Sweden's best known and most beloved book illustrations. He is known for Astrid Lindgren's books about Emil in Lönneberga and Alf Prøysen's about Mrs. Pepperpot. This exhibition focuses on Björn Berg's fairytale world.
