Your responsibilities as a student

In order for you to be successful in your studies, it is important that you take responsibility for your learning. What follows below are examples of things you can do to facilitate your studies.

What are my responsibilities as a student at the university?

If you have applied for and been granted pedagogical support for your studies at Umeå University, it is important that you also understand what you need to know and do, so that your studies will go as smoothly as possible:

  • You have to get in touch as soon as possible with the relevant contact person for support in the case of disabilities. You and the contact person work through the document "Rekommendation om anpassning i studiesituationen" [Recommendation on adaptation in the study situation] together, and  receives information on what you need to do in order to access this support.
  • You have to notify the course coordinator of whether they need adaptations for summative assessments, and if so which ones, at the latest 10 working days before each summative emotive assessment.
  • Independently, you should be able to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills and present this.
  • Your knowledge of the subject is evaluated using the same requirements as with other students. The course's goals must be achieved in order for you to receive a passing grade.
